What Day is the Sabbath?

'Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.  The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.'  (Exodus 20:9-10)

'For I am the LORD, I change not.'  (Malachi 3:6)

'If ye love me, keep my commandments.'  (John 14:15)

Are you searching for the truth about the Sabbath day?  Do you want to know what day is the Sabbath?  Unfortunately, the Sabbath truth has been trampled down and rejected by man for the past 1700 years since the Roman Church rose to power.  And yet the Sabbath truth can be revealed if you open your heart to God's Word in the Bible and let Him guide you.  This issue is simply down to who you choose to serve and worship.  Do you want to serve and worship God, or man?  Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, created the heavens and earth as it says in Colossians 1:16.....'For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.' ..... If Christ created the heaven and earth, then it was He who created and instituted the Seventh Day Sabbath.  What would be the right thing to do?  Should we follow our loving Heavenly Father and His Son, our Saviour Christ Jesus?  Or should we follow man, and trust that the majority of people are doing the right thing?  Friend, even if you were the only person in the world who followed the truth of God, then you should do it.  Don't think that just because the masses are doing one thing, that it is right, as it says in Psalm 118:8 .....'It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.'

It is man who has confused the issue about what day the Sabbath Day is and satan wants nothing more than for us to divert our worship to him from God.  But God has throughout His Word in the Bible been very clear on the Sabbath day truth...... Exodus 20:8 .....'Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.' ...... It's interesting that God said 'remember'.  There are two things we can get from that word.  First, it implies that the Sabbath day was already in effect before the Ten Commandments at Sinai.  Second, it implies that God knew it would be forgotten.  And how could Jesus or the apostles abolish or change the Sabbath Commandment, when Jesus said Himself the following truth:

Matthew 5:18 .....'For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.'

Not one word or letter will pass from the ten commandments until when?  "Heaven and earth pass away".  Has heaven or earth passed away yet?  No.  Therefore not one command has changed from God's law.

So what day is the Sabbath day? .... Genesis 2:2-3 .....'And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.' ..... This is an interesting verse.  Why?  Because God confirms three times what day the Sabbath day is.  It should be enough for us when God says something once, but for Him to say it three times in one verse shows how important the seventh day Sabbath is.  Now I hear many Christians say today that God doesn't mind what day we keep the Sabbath.  Take another look at the verse above along with the 4th commandment.  To me, God seems pretty clear on which day He wants us to keep the Sabbath.  Please remember, this is a God who angels and seraphims adore and bow down to.  We mere sinful humans should give Him the respect He deserves and keep the Sabbath day that He commands.

The Sabbath means rest, which Jesus did on the seventh day.  Now we know that Jesus didn't need rest, but He did rest from His work of creation as an example for us to follow.  Notice from the verse above that the seventh day was blessed and sanctified.  Sanctified means to set something apart for Holy use.  So the seventh day was set aside as a special day for Holy use.  There is no other day throughout history that God has 'sanctified' or 'set apart' for special holy use.  The seventh day is the only day that has that status.  One other interesting fact.  The number of the beast (the mark of the beast) is 666.  Maybe God is showing His own number in this verse above, 777!

God says the Sabbath is "My Holy Day"

Note:  There isn't a single verse in the entire Bible where our Heavenly Father, or Christ our Saviour blesses or sanctifies the first day of the week (our Sunday).  Only the seventh day has that status.  And yet man in his arrogance changed the special day of rest from the seventh day to the first, WITHOUT ONE WORD of authority from God or Christ Jesus!  And please note this following point very carefully.  The seventh Day Sabbath was created and instituted at creation before sin entered the world.  Therefore it must have been part of God's eternal plan for man to enjoy one day a week resting with Him.  The seventh day is the only day that had the particular name of 'The Sabbath' attached to it.  None of the other days have ever had any special reference made to them.  They are just called first day, second day, etc.  Friend, the seventh day is the day our Creator and Saviour blessed and set aside for us.

So what day is the Sabbath?  What day are we commanded to keep?  The ten commandments in Exodus 20 confirms that the Seventh day of the week (our Saturday) is the Sabbath.  Why is it that most Christians will stand up for the Ten Commandments and defend them, but when you challenge them on the fourth Commandment, they will say that God doesn't mind how you keep that Commandment, or what day you keep the Sabbath.  It is one of the Ten, so it is just as important as the other nine.  Who are we to say what our Almighty Creator does or doesn't mind?  Are we now going to put ourselves in the place of God and make His decisions for Him?  That is nothing but blasphemy!  Remember, God never changes ..... Malachi 3:6 ...'For I am the LORD, I change not.' ..... His Sabbath day has never changed, and we can clearly know what day the sabbath is by just reading His Word in the Bible, without adding anything ourselves or taking anything away from God's true Word.

Let's take a look at a comparison of the seventh day Sabbath at creation and the seventh day Sabbath in the fourth commandment:

It's the same day wouldn't you agree?

Mark 2:27 .....'The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.' ..... Did you see that word "MADE"?  The Sabbath was MADE for man.  When was it made?  AT CREATION BY JESUS.  This is proof from the lips of Christ Jesus that the seventh day of creation was the sabbath day of the fourth commandment.  It's a DAY, a 24hr period of rest every week.  For some reason, many Christians apply this verse to saying that the Sabbath day is not important and we can choose to keep it or not.  Jesus gave us a gift at creation of one special day a week, where we can rest and spend it in worship and communion with Him.  Are you going to turn around and say, "thanks Jesus, but I'll choose my own day"?  Just imagine standing before God and telling Him you weren't interested in keeping His Holy day.  Many Christians will say that we are putting ourselves under works and the law if we keep the Sabbath.  No, we are RESTING in Jesus by keeping the seventh day Bible Sabbath every week.  And if someone tells you that they now rest in Jesus every day in the spirit, ask them how they felt after a busy day at work?  Did they feel at 'rest' when they were focusing on work and trying to get things done?  I very much doubt it.  Don't get me wrong, we are to live for Christ Jesus every day, not just one day a week, but that shouldn't stop us from obeying God and keeping His commandments.  By obeying the 4th commandment and resting on the true Sabbath day, it is a physical, outward sign that you are resting in Jesus.  Let's face it, I'm not telling you to "work" your way into the kingdom, I'm telling you to REST!

What is the Sabbath Day?

Do you know what the seventh day Bible Sabbath is?  It's GOD's Holy day!  Many Christians label the seventh day Sabbath as the 'Jewish Sabbath'.  But you will not find any scripture anywhere in the Bible confirming that.  How many Jews were there at creation?  None!  Were Adam and Eve Jews?  No.  And yet God created the seventh day Sabbath for THEM and the rest of MANKIND.  There is no scriptural evidence anywhere in the Bible to claim that the Sabbath day was for the Jews only.  What does God say the sabbath day is? ..... Isaiah 58:13 .....'If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD.' .... This is the truth of God's Word in the Bible.  He declares what the Sabbath day is, it's His Holy Day, not the Jewish day.  And Jesus backed this Himself in Matthew 12:8 ....'For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.' .... It's His Holy day, not the Jews day or anyone else's, it's HIS day!  A special day for Him to spend quality time with His children.

Now the Jewish nation was chosen by God to take His Word to the nations of the earth, and anyone else (non Jews) who wanted to join them had to keep the Sabbath day also.  Now in Isaiah 56:1-7 we have a remarkable truth about the Sabbath day.  Please have a good read of it.  It confirms that God promises the "strangers" (non Jews) that if they keep His Sabbath day Holy and choose the things that please Him, then He will give them (non Jews) a place in His house and a name BETTER than of sons and daughters (Jews).  This is a wonderful promise to anyone who joins themselves to the LORD and keep His Commandments, including His Sabbath day Commandment.  This also shows beyond any doubt that the Sabbath was for MANKIND, not just for the Jews.  We can also see from Ecclesiastes 12:13 that keeping God's commandments is the whole duty of MANKIND, not just the Jews.

God is seeking those who worship Jesus in spirit and in truth, and keeping the seventh day Sabbath is part of worshiping Him in truth, according to His Holy Word in the Bible.

Was the Sabbath day being observed and kept before Sinai?  Did God require the keeping of the Sabbath day before the Ten Commandments were written on those stone tablets?  YES! it was! .... Exodus 16:23 ....'And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.' .... The seventh day Sabbath did not start with the Bible Ten Commandments, it was already in effect from creation.  And what did God say to the Israelites when they broke the Sabbath Commandment by going out to get more manna on the seventh day?  "How long do you refuse to keep my commandments?"

Isaiah 58:13-14 ....'If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.' .... God doesn't want the Sabbath day to be a legalistic ritual.  He wants us to 'delight' in it and make it 'honourable'.  That's what the Sabbath day should be like.  We should keep the seventh day Sabbath because He loves us and gave His Son for us, to die for our sins.  Friend, do you love the LORD with all your heart and soul?  Then delight in His Holy Sabbath day, turn away from your own pleasures on that day and God will cause you to 'ride upon the high places of the earth'.  This is a wonderful promise to those who seek to delight themselves in the LORD, to serve Him, to obey Him and most of all to love Him with all your heart.  Is it important to find out what day the sabbath is?  I believe it is, if you love your Creator, Lord, Saviour and King with all your heart.  Just remember what He has done for you.

As mentioned earlier, the Sabbath day was created and instituted BEFORE sin.  It was God's original plan for man to spend one day a week in special communion with Him and delight in His creation.  We can also see from the Word of God, that the Sabbath day will carry on AFTER sin has gone ..... Isaiah 66:22-23 ....'For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.' ..... Can God be any more clearer?  The Sabbath will continue to be observed in the new heaven and earth.  So we can see that keeping the Sabbath day will continue after the second coming of Christ Jesus.  And if you are wondering why it also says "new moon", that means every month also we will go to see God.  Do you know what will happen every month in the New Jerusalem?  Take a look at Revelation 22:2, you will see that the tree of life produces new fruit when?  EVERY MONTH.  Jesus Himself confirmed that the Sabbath would still be in effect after His death and resurrection.  See the following verse:

Matthew 24:20 ....'But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day.' .... Jesus is warning those with Him about the future destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman army, and that they should pray that their escape would not fall on the seventh day Sabbath.

"The seventh day Sabbath was instituted BEFORE sin"

Did you know this REMARKABLE fact?  In over 100 languages, the name for the day that we call "Saturday" is "the Sabbath." For example, "Saturday" in the Spanish language is "Sabado," which means "the Sabbath." In Italian, it is "Sabbato," which also means "the Sabbath." In Russian it is, "Subbota." In Polish, "Sobota," etc.  The only day that has been and will ever be called the Sabbath day is the seventh day.

You see, this fact above falls into place when you realise that the Sabbath day was being observed at the time of the tower of Babel..... Genesis 11:9 .....'Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.' ..... Even though God confused their language and scattered them across the face of the earth, the Sabbath day remained 'The Sabbath day' in all the different languages.  This shows that the seventh day Sabbath was being observed early in Genesis.  And if you take another look at Exodus 16, you will see that the Israelites were also keeping the Sabbath BEFORE the Ten Commandments were given.

The Lord's Day

Revelation 1:10 ....'I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day.' .... The majority of the Christian world attributes this 'Lord's day' to being Sunday (first day of the week).  Mr Eugene Peterson, who compiled 'The Message' version of the Bible has even changed 'the Lord's day' to 'Sunday' in his bible version.  God will judge anyone who changes His Word.  By the way, if you have this version of the Bible, then I would suggest you didn't use it, as it is nothing but a 'new age' bible.  It is one of the worst bible versions out there.  So, is the Lord's day Sunday?  No, it couldn't be.  There isn't a single verse that backs this theory up in the whole Bible.  So what day could the Lord's day be?  Could it be the Sabbath day (the seventh day Sabbath)?  What should we do to find out?  We should use the Bible to interpret itself.  What does God say about it? ...... Isaiah 58:13 .....'If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day.' .... So God calls the seventh day Sabbath HIS Holy Day.  What about Jesus, does He say anything about this? ..... Mark 2:28 .....'Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.' ..... So God says that the seventh day Sabbath is His Holy day and Jesus says that He is Lord of the Sabbath.  Pretty clear isn't it?  The Lord's day is clearly the seventh day Sabbath.  We must let the Bible interpret itself, rather than let man interpret it.  Please trust in God's truth, rather than man.

Many Christians, once they start to see the truth about the seventh day Sabbath, raise the question that we cannot know what day the seventh day is, because the calendar has changed.  Yes, the calendar has changed, in order to keep up with the solar cycle once in October 1582, but it did not alter the weekly cycle. Ten dates were omitted from the calendar following October 4, 1582. What would have been Friday, October 5, became Friday, October 15.  This did not effect the days of the week, just the date.  If you contact a Naval Observatory, they will tell you from the alignment of the stars that the weekly cycle has not changed since Bible times.  Don't forget, the Jewish nation have been keeping the Sabbath Day since Old Testament times and they have meticulously been keeping the correct day right up to the present time.  So can we know what day is the Sabbath day?  Absolutely!  Remember, if the Jews have the wrong Sabbath, then the majority of the Christian world has the wrong Sunday!!

Don't forget that it was Jesus Christ who created the Sabbath day.  It was He who created the heaven and earth ..... John 1:1-3,14 ....'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.' ..... Jesus revealed Himself as the great 'I AM' from the Old Testament ..... John 8:58 .....'Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.' ..... Jesus created the seventh day Sabbath;  He is Lord of the Sabbath;  He kept the Sabbath;  and He never changed the Sabbath.  What day is the Sabbath?  It's the seventh day of the week, Saturday.

It's such a wonderful privilege to set aside the seventh day (Saturday) every week and rest from our work, and from the cares of this world and spend it with Jesus, our Creator and Savior.  We are not saved by keeping the seventh Day Sabbath, we are only saved by the grace of Jesus, which is a free gift.  But, a true loving relationship with Jesus will produce a loving desire to keep His Commandments, including His Holy Day.  Satan wants nothing more than for you to worship himself instead of God, and through the Bible antichrist system he has changed the Sabbath truth into a lie, and most of the Christian world has believed the lie.  We should worship God with all our heart in spirit and truth, the truth being according to His Word and His commandments. Therefore He is seeking those that worship Him on the true Sabbath day that He instituted, not another day that is just a tradition of man.  Will you accept the truth about the Sabbath day and turn to Jesus with all your heart and soul and keep His holy day?  Do not worry about what the rest of the world is doing, because you are not following man, you are following our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  So what day is the Sabbath?  Saturday, the 7th day of the week.

Who are the 144,000 in Revelation?

The 144 thousand are mentioned twice in the book of Revelation.  Let's look at the scripture containing the 144,000...... Revelation 7:4 .....'And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.'

Revelation 14:1 ....'And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.' ..... It says that the 144 thousand are from the 12 tribes of Israel in chapter 7.  You will note that the order in which the tribes are listed is the only time they are listed like this in the entire Bible.  Are these literal Israelites?  Well, look at many other things in Revelation,  'The candlesticks';  'The stars';  'The Horses';  The beasts';  'The harlot woman';  Are these literal?  Of course not.  Revelation is full of prophetic symbols.  I believe these 144,000 are a type of God's 'special forces'.  A group of people taking God's truth to the world at the end times, exposing the Bible antichrist and staying true to Christ Jesus, and as the Bible says, they are the one's keeping God's Commandments and continuing in the truth faith of Jesus..... Revelation 14:12 ....'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.'

You could say that the 12 apostles were a type of God's special forces in the New Testament.  After Jesus had trained them, He used them to take His message to the world, to penetrate satan's dominion and cause a great expansion of the Christian faith.  And so are these 144 thousand given the same job during the end of time.  But who are they?  The majority of the Christian world believe that they are literal Jews.  Are they right?  The first thing I ask you to do, is to pray and ask God to reveal the truth about this subject to you.  The second thing I ask is that you go and compare what I say here with the Word of God.  God's Word is the true test of anything said, and whether you agree or disagree with the views stated here, I ask that you check it against the Word.

Could the 144,000 be literal Israelites?  Well, take a look at 2 Kings 17:6 ....'In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.' ..... The ten northern tribes of Israel gave themselves over to idolatry, therefore, God gave the Israelites over to the Assyrians, to carry them away in 722BC. Now when the tribes of Judah and Benjamin were later carried off to Babylon, after 70 years in exile there, thousands returned to Israel from these two tribes.  But, nowhere in the Bible does it mention any mass return from the ten other tribes back to Israel...... 2 Kings 17:24 ....'And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.' ..... As you can see from the above verse, the King of Assyria brought back to Israel an assortment of people from the pagan nations.  These later became known as the 'Samaritans', which is why the Jews in the New Testament detested them, because they were not pure blood Israelites.

"Today, a genealogist would be hard pressed to find even one vaguely pure descendant from the tribe of Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, or Simeon—much less 12,000! In fact, because these tribes were so thoroughly scattered around the world and assimilated by their host nations, it is very possible even you have traces of Abraham in your bloodline."  (Amazing Facts)

God confirmed that He would scatter them among all the other nations..... Ezekiel 12:15 ....'And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.'

Who Are True Israel?

Romans 2:28-29 ....'For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.'

Galatians 3:28-29 ....'There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.'

Colossians 3:11 .....'Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.' ..... Do you see who the true Israelites are?  They are you and me, or anyone who follows Jesus with all their heart and soul.  So when the Bible talks about Israel, it is talking about 'spiritual' Israel, anyone who is in Christ Jesus.  God no longer counts literal Israel as His chosen nation.  Do you know why?  If you study the 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel, you will see that God gave the Jews 490 years from the time of the command to rebuild Jerusalem in 457BC to put an end to their sins and make reconciliation with God.  This prophecy came to an end in 34AD.  Do you know what happened then?  Stephen gave the Jewish leaders his famous speech, to which they closed their ears and then stoned him.  In doing this, the Jews had rejected Jesus completely, they had rejected God's grace and therefore they lost their place as God's chosen nation.  Jesus Himself told them this ...... Matthew 23:38 ....'Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.'

And now the apostles in the New Testament books refer to the Christian church as Israel (spiritual Israel) and God's chosen nation:

1 Peter 2:9 ....'But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.'

James 1:1 ....'James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.' ..... James' book is clearly addressed to the new Christian church and yet he refers to them as the 12 tribes.  This is how God sees us now, we are spiritual Jews.  We are to worship God in spirit and in truth.  We are spiritual Israel.

Note:  Jesus wasn't concerned about choosing the 12 apostles from the different tribes of Israel.  Most of them came from the one tribe of Judah.  So why would He be concerned about the 144 thousand coming from the literal 12 different tribes in Revelation?

What about the number 144,000 itself.  Is this an exact number of God's special end time Christian force?  There's no reason why it shouldn't be.  In Revelation, although there are many symbols, the numbers stated often equate to literal numbers.  Like the 7 churches, the 24 elders etc.  These are literal numbers.  144 thousand is the sum of 12 x 12,000.  Now the number 12 is a symbol of God's kingdom.  There are 12 gates to the new Jerusalem, 12 foundations, 12 kinds of fruit on the tree of life.  There were 12 tribes of Israel from the Old Testament, 12 stones on the breastplate of the high priest, 12 patriarchs, 12 judges and of course the 12 apostles in the New Testament.  But does this mean that only 144 thousand people at the end will be saved?  Although this number could be an exact number of God's end time Christian army, praise God, they are not the only one's saved.  See the following verse:

Revelation 7:9 .... 'After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.' ..... After the listing of the 144,000, John sees this great multitude of people, which no man could number.  So it doesn't mean you have to number in the 144 thousand to be saved.  Who is this great multitude?

Revelation 7:13-14 .....'And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.' .... So these are the multitudes that came out of great tribulation.  Unfortunately, a lot of Christians don't believe they will have to go through any tribulation, because they believe they will be raptured away before it starts.  If you are one of these, then I urge you to see the second coming of Christ Jesus website for the truth.  Countless millions of Christians throughout the dark ages went through tribulation when the Roman Catholic Church persecuted anyone who would not bow down to her, where at least 50 million were slaughtered for their true faith in Jesus Christ.  (By the way, 50 million is a conservative estimate).  God's true followers have always been persecuted and have gone through much tribulation throughout history, and it will be the same for the end time saints.  So there was one great tribulation during the reign of the Roman Catholic Church in the dark ages, and there will be another great tribulation just before Jesus returns.  Friend, we need to be ready for it!! .... Daniel 12:1 ....'And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.'

Remember what makes these 144,000 special ..... Revelation 14:4 ....'These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.' ..... They follow Jesus wherever He goes.  A woman in prophecy is a symbol of a church.  Therefore, these people have not defiled themselves with false religion, or apostasy, and have kept their faith based on the pure doctrine of God's Word, rather than on the tradition of man.  And what do they do? ..... Revelation 14:12 ....'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.' .... They keep the Ten Commandments of God and keep the faith of Jesus Christ. 

What Job do the 144,000 Do?

Do you remember the parable of the ten virgins that Jesus gave?  Take a look at what happens ..... Matthew 25:1-6 .....'Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.' ..... Do you see what happens?  The ten virgins represent the professing Christian church, and notice that they ALL slumbered and slept waiting for Jesus.  Now when this happens, a cry is made for the church to go meet Jesus.  So if the church is sleeping, who makes the cry to them to wake up?  It is our belief that the 144,000 make this cry to the world for the church to wake up and prepare to meet Christ Jesus.

The 144,000 are a special end time group of people who completely surrender to the Lord and follows Jesus in all His ways.  They portray His character.  They keep the commandments of God and they keep the faith of Jesus.  They watch and wait for the signs.  They study the Word of God in the Bible.  They pray constantly.  They love the Lord so much that they would rather die than sin against Him.  And they do not fall asleep spiritually like the church (ten virgins) does.  They are the one's who make the cry to the sleeping church to wake up and prepare to meet their Lord and Saviour.  Unfortunately, as we learned from the ten virgins, only some of the church had enough "light" to accept the call and go to meet their Lord.  The rest were shut out.

This is the Bible truth about the 144,000.  Follow Jesus wherever He goes and give all your heart, soul, mind and strength in service to Him.
